Do I have the right to education? Do I have the right to free speech? Do I have the right to a job, regardless of the religion or the sexual orientation that I have? Three different questions, but with the same answer: yes, we have these rights but it seems that many of us don’t know this. 100 students have proposed to inform citizens about the rights that they themselves have, and be the change they want to see in the world. There are so many different personalities, but they joined their hearts and they realized they had a common goal: changing the world. We were waiting for a change in society, but then we realize that we are the society. However, when we do this, why not come up with proposals, ideas, initiatives? Maybe the fear that we will fail? This fear shouldn’t be in any of us, because it will prevent us from demonstrating to the world the skills we have, it will prevent us from evolving and achieving our goals. The fact is that this fear I am talking about is not found at all in the group “Mateiştii”. Being involved in the European project called Citizen Rights, they have proposed to make themselves be remarked with few basic values in society: involvement, creativity, communication. The project launches a challenge that students from the National College “Matei Basarab” accepted: designing a plan and undertaking activities aimed at informing about people about human rights and citizens’ rights in Europe. In the contest are involved ten countries, each with five schools participating. Although it seems impossible that “Mateiştii” will be those who will win and who will be able to apply everything they propose, they do not go on this principle and do not intend to leave room for that tought in their minds. They’re positive and confident that, through teamwork and commitment, they will achieve what others think is unattainable. Words are superfluous, the facts are what will count, for which we invite you to watch them in the near future to see what they have achieved. Until then, do not stay indifferent and support your colleagues, to help them form the society of your dreams! Made by Baciu Roxana
